    I think that social networking language is fine as long as we keep it in the appropriate forum. What concerns me is that the LOLs, OMGs, etc. are making their ways into business communications and other no-nonsense forums. I was equally concerned about the emergence of dude-speak, some years ago.

    Let the English language evolve and grow where there is a need and where it makes sense. In any case, it is crucial that writers first consider their audience and the writing situation when selecting diction and usage.

    After I initially left a comment I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the exact same comment. Perhaps there is a way you can remove me from that service? Thanks a lot!
